Level 4 Black Belt Mastery

As a Black Belt student, you go beyond kihon basic technique to enter realms of training a winning spirit for all of life's challenges. Level 4 classes cover instruction in the methods leading to advancing degrees of Black Belt in To-Shin Do. Beyond the solid grounding in self-protection and self-development explored on the way to earning First Degree Black Belt, are exercises including:

• Utilizing less effort to generate more speed and power

• Responding with grace and intelligence when confronted with brutality and ignorance

• Dealing with multiple attackers

• Defending against attackers skilled in other martial arts

• Lessons in classical combat tools like Japanese tachi sword and rokushakubo long staff

• Happo-biken "Eight Secrets of the Sword" - a code for winning in all types of challenges in life

• Protecting others

• Coaching others for increasing personal refinement and advancing skill

To-Shin Do First and Second Degree practitioners wear a solid Black Belt.

To-Shin Do Third and Fourth Degree advanced practitioners wear a Black Belt with a maroon stripe running the length of the belt.

To-Shin Do Fifth Degree master practitioners wear a Black Belt with a silver stripe running the length of the belt.

To-Shin Do senior master instructors who devote their professional careers to promoting and supervising the growth of To-Shin Do wear a Black Belt with a gold stripe running the length of the belt.
